I got all of these lovely items out of my garden today.
I couldn't be more proud of these few measly items. I just wish the rest of my garden wasn't dead, and that I had more time and nous to grow more things.

Congratulations! Fig, chilli & basil jam? Obviously we need a week of 40+ temperatures to ripen our figs. The spring onions are impressive - I've never managed to grow them that nice.
The possums have just trashed all the leaves on our small self-seeded fig tree. Just pulled them all off and left them on the ground!
Our pride at the moment is a very robust and healthy-looking eggplant with lots of flowers. I hope eggplants don't rely on possums for pollination because I've just fenced them out.
Zucchini and beans are doing well in their new possum-proof enclosure. Fingers crossed on those.
Oh love eggplant and zucchini and beans! I had this funny conversation with mum today, she said "I've got plenty of eggplants, do you want to take some home and make 'parmaggiana'". I said, "I don't know how to make it". She said, "well you bloody-well learn"!
She has a point.
She certainly does. Simon made a cheat parmigiana last week on The Cook and the Chef -
http://www.abc.net.au/tv/cookandchef/txt/s2494937.htm.
He slices almost through the eggplant so that it stays in one piece and stuffs tomato, basil and cheeses in the slits then bakes it. You should probably learn to do it the traditional way first and then see how Simon's method compares.
I'll try it if the eggplant delivers a crop.
